Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate

Mental Health Teaching Assistant (TA) Responsibilities
- Supporting students with mental health challenges in both one-to-one and group settings, providing tailored assistance as needed.
- Assisting students in regulating their emotions and helping them develop positive coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety and other emotional challenges.
- Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create individualised learning plans and provide effective emotional and educational support.
- Facilitating students’ academic progress by offering additional assistance, guidance and encouragement where necessary.
- Monitoring students' emotional well-being, reporting concerns to relevant staff and working with external mental health services when needed.
- Encouraging students to participate in classroom activities, helping them to stay engaged and motivated.
- Offering practical and emotional support to students during difficult moments, ensuring they feel valued and respected at all times.
- Training or certification in Mental Health First Aid or trauma-informed care is advantageous.
- Experience working with young people facing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression and emotional regulation challenges.
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) or relevant qualifications in mental health or care.
- Possess an understanding of mental health challenges and the ability to offer emotional and behavioural support to students.
- Be proactive, empathetic and able to communicate effectively with students, teachers and parents.
- Have a patient and compassionate approach, with the ability to adapt your support to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Previous experience in an SEN or SEMH role is desirable.
- Full-time availability and the ability to commit to the role daily.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
