Launched in April 2013, Luton Foodbank provides emergency food supplies to local people in crisis and in poverty. The charity works with local organisations and volunteers dedicated to ensuring that no one in the town goes hungry. With the increase in poverty and unemployment in Luton, the food bank offers respite by supplying nutritional food parcels to those in need.
Role Description
This is a full-time position as an Information Signpost Advisor at Luton Foodbank. The role involves providing information and guidance to individuals in need, directing them to appropriate resources and support services. The Information Signpost Advisor will assist in managing records, utilising information technology, and ensuring effective communication with clients and partners.
Qualifications
- Analytical skills and information management
- Information technology and records management
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to empathise and work with individuals facing hardship
- Organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in community service or support roles is a plus
- Knowledge of local resources and services in Luton
