We are currently recruiting for a Head of Projects to join our expanding team.

As Head of Projects, you will be leading and growing a talented team of Project Managers working on building the next generation of radio products and applications, whilst continuing to deliver our class leading portfolio

Your Day to Day

You Will Be Accountable For

  • Delivery of the full project life cycle
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and meeting or exceeding customer and business requirements
  • Identifying and implementing process improvement and cost reductions whenever possible.
  • Implementing a clear programme of planned delivery across 6, 12, 24 months
  • Resource tracking, monitoring and reporting for all projects / programmes, resolving issues where required
  • Continuous improvement of project and documentation framework/approach
  • Managing interaction with all departments to resource projects appropriately
  • Project review, impact, lessons learned, post project reports
  • Building strong and successful relationships across the teams involved in end-to-end delivery to generate engagement in projects and implementation into BAU
  • Stakeholder Management - Communications planning, reports and status updates
  • Project forecasting, risk, issue and action management across all projects

Team management

  • Setting the overall direction, priorities and development for the team
  • Leadership, development and resourcing of the department to ensure that we attract, engage and develop high calibre talent which meets strategic and operational requirements
  • Establish and monitor a consistent and effective method of delivering key departmental objectives

Working in the rewarding field of mission critical communications your deliverables will be used worldwide to ensure secure, reliable, and instant communication where it’s needed most.

This job involves some travelling so the successful applicant will have a full, clean driving licence and their own car. Travel expenses will be paid.



What You Need To Succeed

We are looking for someone who is target driven, commercially aware, and able to manage a team of project managers to deliver successful and profitable projects. In addition, the successful candidate will need:

  • A drive to succeed personally, and to motivate others to succeed.
  • Experience of developing and leading a team of project managers, and developing its processes and procedures
  • Experience of working with major project management methodologies e.g. PRINCE2, Agile etc
  • To be able to demonstrate significant and positive business outcomes from projects delivered in previous roles
  • The ability to engage, develop and collaborate with team members and the wider business
  • Good financial knowledge and understanding of P&L/Balance sheets
  • Proven ability to prioritise and deal with difficult, demanding and complex situations
  • The ability to escalate project impacts/delays to senior management in a timely manner
  • An inquisitive nature prepared to challenge conventional wisdom in a constructive manner
  • To be a strategic thinker; able to deliver to the bigger picture as well as attend to the detail
  • A qualification held in one or more major project management methods
