The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job title: Business Analyst (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Location: Peterborough (Hybrid)

Do you have a track record of working on complex business change projects across multiple industries? Can you translate intricate business needs into clear, actionable solutions that facilitate transformation?

Are you skilled at engaging with senior stakeholders, navigating competing priorities, and ensuring business requirements are met with precision?

We’re looking for a skilled Business Analyst to join us at an exciting time of growth and development. Our Global Delivery function is evolving, and as part of this, we’ve launched ‘PMaaS’ (Project Management as a Service)—an internal consultancy providing project and programme support to major business and technology initiatives across the ABF Group.

In this role, you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, ensuring that complex requirements are understood, documented, and translated into strategic solutions. You’ll be embedded into key projects, working to shape business cases, drive decision-making, and support effective delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document complex business requirements.
  • Develop robust business cases for major business change initiatives, including financial modelling and benefit analysis.
  • Conduct workshops, interviews, and stakeholder meetings to capture requirements, manage expectations, and ensure alignment.
  • Support the development of project concepts, defining scope, risks, dependencies, and success criteria.
  • Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, and technical teams to ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
  • Guide requirements through the full project lifecycle, ensuring effective change management and smooth adoption of new processes or systems.
  • Provide guidance on business process improvements, identifying opportunities for efficiency and operational enhancements.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the PMaaS service, sharing best practices and mentoring other Business Analysts.

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive background as a Business Analyst, participating in complex organisational change efforts across different industries.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with senior leaders across finance, HR, IT, and other business units.
  • Ability to gather, analyse, and document business needs, transforming them into clear and executable strategies.
  • Experience in developing business cases for large-scale projects, including financial modelling, benefit analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with the flexibility to adjust to different project environments.
  • Advanced problem-solving and efficient work techniques, with a professional approach and a focus on business value.
  • Facilitation and communication skills, capable of conducting workshops, stakeholder meetings, and presentations.
  • Experience in business process analysis and design, with a solid understanding of modelling techniques and tools.
  • Ability to work in a federated, geographically dispersed environment, embedding into client teams and building reliable networks.
  • Continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, contributing to the growth and development of the PMaaS service.
