As a vital leadership role, the Chair will provide strategic direction, governance oversight, and support to ensure the continued success and growth of our Scout District. The District Trustee Board plays a vital role in the running of a Scout District. Trustee Boards make decisions and carry out administrative tasks to ensure that the best quality Scouting can be delivered to young people in the District. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring alignment with the Scouts mission and objectives. Governance Oversight Oversee the governance and compliance functions of the District, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Board Management Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among Trustees, fostering a positive and productive working relationship. Community Engagement Act as an ambassador for the District, building and maintaining strong relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and partners. Fundraising and Resource Development Work closely with the Board to identify and secure funding opportunities to support the financial sustainability of the Scout District. Advocacy and Representation Represent the Scout District at relevant events, conferences, and meetings, advocating for the organization's interests and promoting its positive impact.
