VAT Accountant - Hybrid working

The Prodrive Group now comprises of five distinct but complimentary businesses (Motorsport, Advanced Technology, Composites, Ventures, and Brand&), benefitting from four decades of sporting and commercial success and a reputation for complex programme execution.

In recent years our operations have become increasingly global resulting in us trading across a number of tax jurisdictions: our Motorsport business supplies aftersales parts from within the European and American markets we operate in, Brand& is our bespoke merchandising business which imports stock into and exports stock out of our Polish distribution centre.

To support our growth, we are now seeking a VAT Accountant on a permanent, full-time basis to support the finance teams across the Prodrive group. The role will primarily focus on processing our overseas VAT requirements with responsibilities including intrastat, EC sales and import/export duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of international VAT returns and their equivalent.
• Ensure awareness and readiness for new VAT rules or new territory requirements.
• Exploit functionality of our ERP system (IFS Cloud) to facilitate efficient analysis and reporting.
• Assist with setting up new VAT registrations across the world.
• Ensure VAT accounts are compliant ensuring stakeholders understand company requirements e.g. all journals are supported by appropriate documentation and correctly posted.
• Provide expert advice on non-standard business transactions to ensure adherence to rules.
• Improve VAT transaction & correction processes to comply with legislative requirements.
• Build relationships with tax advisors to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice.

Who are we looking for?

A VAT specialist, with import and export knowledge, you will enjoy interrogating data and offering insight and analysis to make the company more efficient.

Your conscientiousness and attention to detail will ensure compliance and exploit opportunities the tax rules permit.

You will have advanced Excel skills and be conversant with ERP systems and able to extract data and exploit functionality.

Our ideal candidate will already be conversant with VAT and tax rules in some of the territories we operate in.
