Who You Are / Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Settlements Team Lead, the Settlements Analyst will be responsible for the invoicing and settlement of LNG, Gas, Power, Emissions and FX, ensuring payments are made on time and allocated correctly.
Key Responsibilities
- To handle physical trade invoicing and settlement following the industry master agreements standards and definitions.
- Price confirmation with counterparties and invoicing of sales both provisional and final invoices.
- Ensuring settlement dates comply with the payment due dates specified in the Master Agreements.
- To ensure timely receipt and payment of funds, liaising with Treasury, Compliance and Front Office as required, taking appropriate action where any issues are identified.
- Process secondary costs relating to Gas, Power and LNG such as gas and power transportation, inspections for LNG, brokerage.
- Ensuring brokerage costs are correct in the ETRM and all invoicing is up to date.
- Supply weekly cash forecasting for Treasury detailing purchases and sales in order to provision cashflow.
- Managing the spot physical exchange trade validation process for Power and Gas.
- Running the OTC margining process from Credit Cube so an understanding of margining is required.
- Working closely with Legal, providing settlement review and input into Master Agreements and structured contracts for settlement purposes.
- Developing strong relationships with traders, operators and the business, working to resolve disputes and ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Resolving third party disputes proactively.
- Support the month-end process, working closely with Accounting.
- To work on IT change requests and projects, identifying process improvements and raising IT work.
- Supporting the counterparty set up process in Endur, ensuring all controls are met.
- Minimum: A level or accounting vocational qualification.
- Proven relevant experience, with thorough understanding of the settlement process and industry related compliance requirements.
- Settlement experience in LNG, Power and Gas is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and trading/accounting system (SAP experience definitely is a plus).
- Excellent team working and networking skills.
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, positive and proactive.
