Role Overview
We are looking for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support students with a variety of special educational needs. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help students overcome learning, emotional, and behavioural challenges, ensuring they can fully engage in a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Role Overview
We are looking for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support students with a variety of special educational needs. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help students overcome learning, emotional, and behavioural challenges, ensuring they can fully engage in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with special educational needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other learning difficulties.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of individual learning plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies.
- Support students in their social, emotional and academic development, fostering independence and confidence.
- Help to adapt teaching resources and activities to meet the specific needs of students.
- Monitor and record students’ progress, offering feedback and support to ensure they achieve their learning goals.
- Support students during breaks, lunchtime and extracurricular activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Assist in managing behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques and help create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO and other professionals to promote the overall development of the students.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable, but not essential.
- Understanding of a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and learning disabilities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- A patient, adaptable and proactive approach to supporting students.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also using initiative when needed.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are preferred but not essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
- Earn between £12.82 - £14.72 per hour, depending on experience.
- Begin teaching straight away in a supportive and dynamic school environment.
