Midland Alloy Ltd, a small engineering company specialising in Aluminium Bending, CNC Machining and Fabrication.

About The Role

We are looking for a proactive and organised Materials Controller / Admin to join our small manufacturing business. This role involves hands:on tasks like goods:in and goods:out management and office based admin tasks. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in both office and shop:floor settings and able to support the team with flexibility and efficiency.

Duties And Responsibilities

Material Control Duties:

• Organisation of the stores areas and stock control.
• Receive incoming goods from the Goods:in entrance (including answering the Goods:in door).
• FLT driving to load/unload deliveries and move materials on shop floor.
• Process incoming delivery notes, allocate GRNs and update stocks.
• Checking / inspecting incoming and outgoing goods to specification (e.g. Extrusion Temper and size).
• Assist with packing parts ready for despatch and packaging planning when required
• Occasional van driving for local deliveries/collections.
• Quality support where required.
  
  

Admin Duties

• Answer phone calls and support general administrative needs.
• Assistance with opening post.
• Raise purchase orders and track progress when required.
• Handle customer progress:chasing inquiries by coordinating with the necessary colleagues.
• Assist with customer and supplier requests regarding material stocks etc.
• Organise deliveries and collections with sub:contract transport and organise postage for any packages.
• Raise Midland Alloy delivery notes.
• Matching supplier delivery notes against purchase orders and invoices.
• Assistance with ordering maintenance services for plant and equipment.
• Respond to internal requests, support project work, and assist other departments as needed.
  
  

About You

• Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and ability to multitask.
• Use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures in a shop floor environment.
