Position Overview
The IT Strategy Consultant role aims to elevate the business relationship with our Clients beyond day to day IT Managed Services or a Client/Supplier relationship. This role works with the Client to fully understand their business, future plans/changes, drive IT adoption and usage and understand key third-party applications that are in use across the business/organisation.
The IT Strategy Consultant role works with our Clients to formulate strategic IT goals, identifying risks that exist, developing IT policies and procedures, planning future IT budgets, analysing and reworking business processes and facilitating technology changes.
The IT Consultant can help Clients plan for and maintain their IT infrastructure, but more importantly can also provide more forward-looking services. For example, to plan a technology/business roadmap and identify opportunities to implement new technologies.
The IT Consultant will work with the Client to improve the Clients overall security posture.
Engagements will vary for Clients depending on their needs, but we should always be looking to deliver value to our Clients and ensure their adoption of IT improves.

Responsibilities
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the Clients you are assigned to work with i.e. business, structure, values, and culture.
- Understand the Client’s long-term business objectives to create, deliver and manage an IT strategy for that business or organisation, with timescales and milestones that can be measured.
- Work with the Client to ensure adoption of technology and new solutions implemented.
- Working alongside the Mirus Team (Client Manager/Professional Services/Service Delivery Team) to ensure we deliver a united approach to the Client.
- Research, understand and monitor any regulatory or compliance standards that the Client must adhere to/maintain (from a technology perspective).
- Research, understand and monitor best practice for cybersecurity standards the client must adhere to.
- Create, update, and manage an IT Risk Log for the Client to identify all areas of risk (related to IT) and work to identify possible approaches to reduce or mitigate that risk.
- Work with Clients to develop appropriate IT policies and procedures which are specific to their organisation and align to any compliance requirements the organisation has.
- When appropriate take on the responsibility to drive documentation for the Client and ensure Mirus are delivering the best possible service to our Clients.
- Hold quarterly meetings with the Client (alongside Client Manager) to review status of progress i.e. IT Strategy, IT Risk Log, Compliance etc.
- When appropriate produce regular reporting for the Clients which is appropriate to the type of engagement Mirus has with the Client.
- Assist Mirus to identify further sales opportunities within that Client (additional services, projects, telephony, print, additional strategy consultancy)
- Build relationships within key stakeholders within the Client (Directors, Senior Management, Decision-makers) to ensure Mirus is assisting with adding value to the relationship.
- Work alongside colleagues within Professional Services (Pre-Sales) to ensure the IT Strategy is converted in a deliverable roadmap with the required technical detail
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with both teams and individuals at all levels
- Ability to analyse, specify and scope Client solutions
- Ability to deal with changing scenarios and manage Client’s expectations
- Knowledge of VMware, Microsoft, Networking technologies
- Proven experience of planning project timelines
- Knowledge of risk management
- Commercial awareness
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Creative, analytical problem-solving ability utilising original and innovative thinking
- Methodical approach suitable to resolution of Client requirements
- Proactive, practical approach to work
- Strong strategic, analytical and organisational skills
