We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Compliance Specialist to join our Compliance & Policy department. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring our organization's adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies while driving innovation through the application of advanced tools, including AI. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine traditional compliance expertise with cutting-edge technology and an open-minded approach to learning and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on laws, regulations, and policy developments across the EU and UK, with a focus on renewable energy sectors.
- Monitor legislative changes affecting compliance and prepare comprehensive reports and concise summaries on regulatory trends, providing actionable recommendations to internal teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams to draft and update compliance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and business needs.
- Draft and contribute to compliance reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the compliance inquiry system, handle standard requests, distribute existing policies and documents, and escalate complex issues to the appropriate teams.
- Deliver training to internal teams on regulatory obligations and compliance strategies while maintaining and organizing compliance documentation..
- Analyse consumer trends from legal and policy perspectives, identifying regulatory changes that may impact operations.
- Design and implement consumer engagement plans that align with legal requirements and promote positive interactions with regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
- Perform administrative tasks such as organizing and summarizing meetings, collecting feedback from various departments, and ensuring smooth communication within the team.
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, Energy Policy, Law, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in compliance, policy research, or related fields, with knowledge of EU and UK regulatory frameworks.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations into clear, actionable insights.
- Familiarity with AI tools or an eagerness to learn and apply them in compliance workflows.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with experience engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Open-minded, with a passion for continuous learning and exploring innovative solutions in compliance.
