An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Manager and Leader based in our Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Division as the Clinical Operational Manager for the East area for 12 months. This post covers the Wrexham and Flintshire area and forms part of the East area Senior Leadership team. We are looking for a highly experienced individual with the ability to act independently and on their own initiative who has a passion for driving improvements in the quality and safety of patient care. Drawing on the National Strategies and frameworks enshrined in Together for Mental Health (2012), Taking Wales Forward (2016-2021) and the Delivery Plan for Together for Mental Health, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) improving mental health care is a priority for patients with a focus on ensuring equality and access to services for all patients providing the right support at the right time and place, operating a ‘no wrong door’ policy and promoting seamless transition to between services.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

This post will have responsibility for the operational management and leadership and strategic development of both inpatient and community teams for adults and older persons. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Operations and Service Delivery and Head of Nursing in relation to strategic planning and clinical policy, governance and activity, to ensure that the Division’s plans and their implementation reflect the Health Board’s corporate objectives, operational policies and strategic intentions. Particular emphasis will be placed on the management of performance, quality and resource utilisation, with a view to securing the delivery of consistently high quality clinical services with the resources available to the Division.
