Position

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Catering Assistant based at University Hospital Ayr.

What You Will Do

You will be required to work as part of the Catering Production & Services Team, assisting in all aspects of food preparation, delivery, service, and wash up cleaning duties relating to the provision of catering services to Patients, Staff, Visitors and for functions.

Essential

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Be physically fit to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Have good communication and customer care skills
  • Have standard grade English and Arithmetic or equivalent
  • Have experience of working in large scale catering
  • Ability to work in a hygienic setting regarding all aspects of food handling
  • Ability to work under pressure, be flexible and adaptable You are required to be proficient in and have knowledge of or undertake training in
  • Keep up-to-date with in role training to ensure health and safety requirements are maintained

Desirable

  • Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate (6 hrs + exam)
  • Food Hygiene Regulations (2006) and Food Safety Assurance system
  • Safe Systems of Work /work schedules
  • Health and Safety Policies / regulations
  • Infection Control practices
  • Cash Handling and Standing Financial Instructions

12.09 hours per week - 7 days on 7 days off 1130-1500/0
