The neuroendocrine unit at the Royal Free is world renowned and cares for the largest number of patients living with the condition in Europe. The Specialist nursing team is well respected in the team and play a pivotal role in the care of the patients.

The successful candidate will join the service providing specialist nursing advice and support for patients with an actual diagnosis NET and when NET is initially suspected, from their period of investigation, diagnosis, treatment and possible transition into palliative care.

The post will be a full CNS role including expert clinical practice, education and research. The post holder will be required to work with clinical, operational, information and administrative staff within the acute Trust.

The successful candidate is required to be able demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification.

The Post Holder Will Be Required

  • To liaise with all key members of the Neuroendocrine multidisciplinary team to support colleagues in the delivery of specialised patient care across professional boundaries.
  • To work autonomously to deliver specialist clinical care appropriate to the needs of the patient group and based on principles that are research based and enhance the quality of patient care.
  • To undertake nurse led clinics and to be responsible for excellent standards of nursing care to patients delivering nurse-led clinics and services.
  • To contribute to the facilitation of the planning, delivery and evaluation of care pathways for a designated group of patients.
  • To contribute to training and education within specialist area.
  • To promote an innovative and progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through reviewing the evidence base and embedding this in practice through engagement in research activities.
