We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to take on a key role within our education team. This position is ideal for someone with a background in legal and problem-solving within the educational context, who has experience handling and resolving complex complaints. You will be tasked with managing situations that require sensitivity and diplomacy, working closely with parents, staff, and stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes.

Your ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and in person, will be essential in producing detailed reports and letters that address complex issues. You will also have the opportunity to use your advanced ICT skills to interpret data and generate statistical reports, which are key to supporting service delivery. This role will involve some evening meetings and the ability to manage conflicting work demands during busy periods, ensuring smooth operations even in a high-pressure environment.

Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.

Interviews will take place on the 3rd & 4th March

About You

We’re looking for someone who is decisive, diplomatic, and a natural problem-solver. You’ll be skilled at negotiating, persuading, and influencing outcomes, particularly when dealing with frustrated or angry parents. You’ll be able to present well-reasoned cases and navigate difficult situations with ease.

Your organisational skills will allow you to manage multiple tasks effectively, while your judgement will help you make clear decisions when needed. A strong knowledge of issues and legislation related to Appeals and Admissions will be crucial, and your commitment to continuing professional development will ensure that you remain up-to-date with the latest practices.

If you have experience in identifying discrimination and taking the right action, we’d love to hear from you. We also appreciate candidates who are flexible and can attend meetings outside of normal working hours when required.

This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English

Application Process

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional), and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for which they are applying. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.
