Our business unit brings together engineers, architects, surveyors, urban designers, project managers and transport planners to provide collaborative and coordinated value design solutions for our clients, both nationally and internationally.
Transport Planning & Mobility Solutions at Jacobs is one of the most successful teams of its nature in the UK and Ireland, with a varied client base, strong local pipeline of work and offers support delivery to project teams across the globe. Our local team is involved in a range of exciting and innovative projects covering all elements of transport planning including traffic engineering, traffic modelling, economic appraisal, active modes, public transport, policy & strategy formation and business case development. Currently, Jacobs has a wide variety of active travel and urban design projects across The North East, the wider UK and Ireland.
Our Transport Planning Consultants work across a range of skill areas on some of the most iconic and diverse projects across the UK - business case development, scheme development, scheme appraisal, data analysis & presentation, transport modelling, economic assessment, public consultation & stakeholder engagement, monitoring & evaluation and project management.

- This role is based on a Hybrid basis from our office in Newcastle city centre
- NB – this is not a Graduate entry level opportunity
- To be degree qualified in a relevant discipline
- Have achieved or be working towards being a recognised Transport Planning / Engineering Professional
- Experience in the transport planning field with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile transport projects
- Experience of a number of transport planning fields, such as business case development, scheme feasibility, transport assessments and / or modelling
- To be a creative, solution-oriented individual who considers multiple perspectives to identify different solutions
- A desire to develop your technical skills and the ability work independently in the field of transport planning
- To be able to manage tasks using appropriate program, budget and quality controls
- Flexibility to manage a varied workload, assist with business opportunities and embrace new technologies, product solutions and the future evolution of the industry
