Transitional Support Worker

The Offer

As a Support Worker based at Coopers Chase at Enham Trust. You'll have a supportive, caring nature and someone who strives to empower, and demonstrate a "can do" attitude, to enable our service users to make informed choices about their lives. Supporting residents to reach their full potential in line with their support plan, risk assessments and ordinary life principles.

Reporting to the Senior Support Worker and Service Manager, you will provide person centred services to people in all aspects their lives, providing opportunities to access recreational, educational and social activities enhancing life experiences. You will encourage residents to do as much as possible for themselves, whilst helping to identify assistance required to enable our residents to live as independently as possible.

The purpose of the role is to enable people to reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support.

The role will require the post-holder to work independently and as part of a team, in a variety of different settings, such as the service user’s home in Cooper’s Chase and support a person to lead a fulfilling and more independent life.

This will be working on a Casual Contract, shift patterns for this role are on a rota basis between the hours of 7am - 10pm, with sleep in shifts also available.

Coopers Chase is a unique Transitional Service as it provides the perfect balance of gaining independence whilst being supported.

Located in the village of Enham Alamein, Coopers Chase offers 10 individual flats, to support you to live more independently and develop essential living skills to transition onto independent living accommodation.

Built in 2011, Coopers Chase consists of a modern bedsit, a kitchenette and en-suite wet room. You can also enjoy a communal lounge, kitchen, laundry facilities and beautiful shared gardens.

About You

You will need:

• Good communication skills
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• To be compassionate and patient
• Ideally some experience in a caring industry, for example hospitality or schools
• To pass our DBS check or be on the DBS update service
  
  

Even better if you have previous experience of a care environment, having a knowledge of disabilities, issues relating to physical access and adaption will be advantageous in addition to having a commitment to and understanding of equal opportunities.
