Job Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Technical Support Manager to join our team based at Westdown Camp in Wiltshire. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of our technical processes across the region.

The successful candidate will join a small team who support the wider Built Estate operational delivery by;

  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert for HV/LV Electrical Infrastructure and equipment, with appointment as co-ordinating Authorised Person HV/LV and Petroleum systems (following suitable training and familiarisation with the estate). Previous appointment in at least one of these disciplines is essential
  • Supporting the operational teams with AE Audits for all disciplines.
  • Management of DSEAR reports and actions as issued by the client team.
  • Managing the closure of Risk Assessment and audit actions, including supporting the teams with developing and implementing solutions/processes.
  • Working with the Planning Management function to ensure accurate asset data and PPM scheduling.

Travel required: This role covers the South West, including Wiltshire, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall with a potential for wider UK travel in support of other regions on occasion.

No Line Management: This role does not require any line management of staff

Main Responsibility

Compliance: Ensure contract delivery is in line with relevant legislation, ACOPs, HSG and SFG20.

Inspection and Audit Preparation: Prepare for and host authority inspections and Authorising Engineers Audits.

Compliance Management: Update and review the Asbestos, Hazard, Water Hygiene, Fgas registers and manage the completion of works arising from Surveys and Risk Assessments.

Technical Knowledge: Investigate technical issues and provide reports to managers, advise and assist maintenance managers on technical issues.

Collaborative Work: Work closely with managers to achieve continuous and auditable service delivery compliance across the region.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to existing processes to ensure accurate, consistent, and auditable records that meet legal requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Significant experience in a building services technical managerial/supervisory position
  • Operational knowledge of Asbestos, Legionella & DSEAR management
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation & guidance as it applies to the facilities management industry
  • Able to drive and travel throughout the South West, with potential wider UK travel
  • IT and Microsoft office products competency

Desirable

  • Operational knowledge of Gas, Petroleum & Fuels and Fire safety
  • Previous experience of incident investigation and report writing
  • Previous experience of Asset Management Frameworks and ISO55001
