Structured Cabling Project Engineer - Night shift

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join our Smart Infrastructure team at Computacenter on a contract basis. To deliver structured cabling and related technology projects at our customer site - London Heathrow Airport. The Project Engineer will be working the hours of 19:00 - 04:00 Monday through to Friday.

What you’ll do

• Provide assistance to Night Manager, line managing those employees directly assigned to the project(s) consistent with employee expectations, general company policy and best practice.
• Ensure operations with regards to the Health & Safety of employees and third parties, ensuring consistency with company and statutory obligations.
• Successfully manage customer projects to time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction objectives.
• Ensure that the projects are delivered in accordance with company and customer processes, procedures and statutory obligations, taking overall responsibility for project quality.
• Ensure that the necessary project practices are in place and used and developed to reflect recognised best practice.
• Ensure provision of timely and accurate internal and customer project reporting.
• Professionally represent the company, protecting the company assets and its reputation.
• Attend nightly briefing calls.
• Assist the Night Manager in ensuring all resources have required paperwork, tools & materials to enable the works to be completed in accordance with Heathrow Health & Safety standards.
• Escalate any site incidents to Night Manager and Project Management team
• Work with and build relations with current installation teams & client Night Management
• Participate in any training that the company may from time to time, reasonably ask the incumbent to undergo, to achieve accreditations and qualifications that are deemed essential for the fulfilment of duties.
• Propose and champion innovations and improvements to the business and its processes.
• Deputise for Night Manager

What you’ll need

• Previous experience of working at London Heathrow Airport is desirable.
• Previous experience in managing site teams in the structured cabling industry.
• Experience of Risk Assessments and Health & Safety working practices
• Knowledge required to manage a safe construction site, CITB SSSTS qualification or equivalent.
• Valid ECS health & safety card.
• Health & Safety CDM knowledge.
• Be familiar with industry standard testers and testing procedures.
• Excellent technical understanding of structured cabling design and technologies.
• You must be articulate, a self-starter, have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and able to demonstrate experience in pragmatically solving problems.
