Staff Nurse
Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Leeds
Contract type: Full time
Job Overview
We are recruiting for a new team to deliver children and young people’s mental health services (CYPMHS) - a term for all services that work with children and young people who have difficulties with their mental health or wellbeing. These services are also known as children and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).
The service is part of Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and is based at Red Kite View, Armley, less than 3 miles from Leeds City Centre. It will provide inpatient care and support to families and young people from across West Yorkshire. It marks the start of an exciting new chapter in the provision of NHS services to young people living with mental health needs and their families. Red Kite View will allow you to work in a spacious, therapeutic environment that has been designed in consultation with staff and young people using the current services.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of a multi-skilled, experienced, motivated and creative service, you will be responsible for contributing to the efficient day to day delivery of effective clinical care and risk management of the young people.
You will have great interpersonal skills and be able to establish a professional working relationship with young people and families. You will be cool in a crisis, it's a busy clinical area and we manage lots of risk-taking behaviour including deliberate self harm and management of violence and aggression. It is a demanding, yet rewarding role.
You will be keen to develop, and be able to support junior staff and learners, and be supported to offer clinical supervision as well as positive role modelling.
Your values are essential to this role; we are looking for someone who genuinely wants to make a lasting impact on young people, who insists on doing things with care and diligence and is able to think on their feet.
The CAMHS inpatient unit structure has been newly designed, specifically to enable and encourage progression; your development is vital to the service.
