The Role
Are you interested in joining a dynamic, proactive, forward thinking Paediatric Dietetic team as one of their Specialist Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrine Dietitians?
The job entails being an integral part of the Diabetes team working alongside, Consultant Paediatricians, Dietitians and specialist Nurses.
We are open to be flexible with working hours and are happy to support training if required.
If you have a background in Adult Diabetes and fancy a change or if you are a paediatric dietitian who is looking to specialise, or even if you have no paediatric or Diabetes experience but you have a interested in paediatric Diabetes, we would be very happy to discuss the role with you.
You would be based at University Hospital Wishaw as part of a team of 9 Paediatric and Neonatal Dietitians.

What we'll need you to bring
- Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
- Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
- The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
It would be great if you also have
- Masters module in Paediatric diabetes
- Either experience in Diabetes, paediatric diabetes, or paediatrics
- Experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within area of practice
- Interest and/or experience in student training
- Experience of training other staff groups on nutrition.
- Experience in working with groups
- Knowledge of specialist dietetic interventions relevant to post and up to date knowledge of professional issues, including national clinical standards and guidelines
- Knowledge of clinical governance and its application in clinical practice e.g. clinical audit, risk management etc
- Knowledge of Insulin pump technology
