We are seeking a skilled Software QA Engineer to join our dynamic team!

As the Software QA Engineer, you will be responsible for testing solutions (internal and 3rd party) ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and use. You will take a hands-on approach and lead the project delivery team in the design and execution of QA strategies and methods.

You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and a real passion for testing and quality.

As our Software QA Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by:

  • Create test plans/scripts from use cases, user stories, functional specifications.
  • Carry out solutions software testing to ensure products are fit for purpose (meets required functionality, compliance, and capacity).
  • Track, follow up and ensure that all bugs are remediated, and code is released effectively.
  • Expertise in Postman API testing.
  • Contribute to test automation scripting using Selenium.
  • Ensure the product achieves or exceeds the envisioned customer experience.
  • Develop quality strategies for software products and oversee the development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test results.
  • Ensure coordination and completion of test activities.
  • Provide demo to customers, training to end users, and knowledge sharing internally.
  • Lead CAT testing with the customer.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture within the team.
  • Contribute as QA Lead in the project core team to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the core team Meeting.
  • Be a point of contact and escalation for PMs.
  • Identify, quantify, prioritize, and manage quality, contributing to the project risk mitigation plans.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders such as the Business Analyst, Product Owner, Developers, PMs, Technical Writer, Customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, overcoming obstacles, and escalating concerns when required.

Your Experience and Education include:

  • Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ experience of release testing in controlled environments
  • Proven capabilities in leading software product testing, ideally for products that integrate software and hardware.
  • Proven ability to drive QA success via integrated cross-functional teams involving deep collaboration with technical/software team and design

Work Requirements :

  • Location: Basingstoke. minimum 3 days a week in the office.
  • UK Right to Work: Must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Travel: Experience the excitement of dynamic project delivery with 20-30% travel opportunities!
  • Compliance: With all relevant customer and HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, Environmental systems, and laws.
