Are you an experienced Health and Safety Advisor with prior exposure to groundworks and civil engineering projects and looking for a fresh opportunity?

We have an exciting new opportunity with our client, a well:established civil engineering and groundworks contractor specialising in supporting major clients in the residential new build sector and large scale infrastructure projects.

They are looking for an experienced and ambitious H and S Advisor to join their team in the Eastern Counties region. The company has grown significantly in the last number of years and they expect this trend to continue with a strong order book of work.

This role will be split between site and office locations and you will be required to ensure the highest safety standards are maintained across a range of projects.

Key Duties

  • Provide support and assistance to senior management on all H and S issues.
  • Attend pre:commencement meetings as requested and proactively contribute to the initial decisions made by the contract team.
  • Bring to the attention of the Contracts Manager, SHE Director, Construction Director and/or others any serious breaches of Company policy, procedures and legislation.
  • Promote a positive H and S Culture within the Company.
  • Assist the Regional SHE Manager to prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy.
  • Produce RAMS.
  • Planned site visits and audits including reporting and follow up actions.
  • Identify training needs and deliver on site training including toolbox talks.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents.
  • Ensure Company compliance with CDM regulations and other relevant statutes.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Relevant Health and Safety qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH or other relevant qualification).
  • Experience as a Health and Safety Advisor.
  • Ability to work independently as well as contributing to team and company wide strategy.
  • Efficient audit monitoring skills.
  • IT literate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Clean Driving Licence.
