As Plantforce expands and our fleet increases, we require a Service & Repair Manager to lead the team that is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient servicing and repair of our plant fleet including diggers, dump trucks, excavators and rollers.

This role is based at our Weston office and reports to the National Workshops Manager. You will be managing the team responsible for ensuring that our plant is serviced to the highest standards, and that breakdowns are responded to quickly and effectively.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop the Service & Repair mobile fitters and support team.
  • Prioritise, schedule and assign jobs to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion.
  • Ensure that the routine services are carried out as per manufacturers schedules.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults and implement effective solutions.
  • Respond and manage repair requests, to ensure effective resolution.
  • Monitor Parts and Stock Control to ensure availability, whilst managing stock cost.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations. Maintain asset records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent.
  • Build relationships and negotiate competitive rates with key suppliers.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements that will enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Personal Requirements:

  • Previous team leader / manager experience in this or similar role.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of heavy plant machinery, including operation and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using various software as well as Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
