Leicester Partnership NHS Trust is currently expanding their inpatient substance use team and are looking to recruit a passionate and solution focused recovery worker at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit.
The Senior Substance Use Worker is responsible for providing high-quality, client-centred care to individuals dealing with substance use issues. This role involves assessment, intervention, case management, and developing treatment plans. The Senior Worker will take an active role in supporting a multidisciplinary team, supervising junior staff, and ensuring effective service delivery. Additionally, the position involves providing educational resources and facilitating groups.
This position requires a person who is passionate about supporting individuals in recovery, committed to reducing the stigma surrounding substance use, and dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. The Senior Substance Use Worker will play a key role in improving client outcomes through their leadership, expertise, and advocacy. No day is the same in this role but an ability to communicate effectively with a range or service users and colleagues, an ability to manage different tasks and a commitment to LPT values are essential.

- can work on their own initiative, but more importantly, as part of a team
- has good communication and organisational skills
- Successful candidates will be dynamic and forward thinking. The ideal candidate will have to have extensive knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable adults presenting with co-existing substance use and mental health issues.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties And Responsibilities)
- Maintaining regular direct contact with service users with substance use issues and supporting them in their recovery whilst they are an inpatient.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients’ substance use histories, mental health, and social situations.
- Developing and implement individualized treatment plans and risk assessments that incorporate harm reduction & relapse prevention, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based approaches whilst working closely with clinical ward staff and partner agencies around prescribing needs.
- Offer ongoing support and case management, ensuring continuity of care through working collaboratively with healthcare providers, social services, and community organizations to ensure a holistic approach to patient care and connecting patients with appropriate services.
