Job Overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated, innovative and dynamic qualified Senior Occupational Health Advisor. The post offers a rewarding and challenging opportunity to work within an enthusiastic team. Primarily based in St Woolos Hospital in Newport the post holder will take the operational lead to provide services to staff based in the south and southeast of the University Health Board.

As well as extensive experience you should hold a specialist post-registration qualification in occupational health. You must be able to combine hands on service delivery and management skills whilst contributing to service development. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as manage a team. The successful applicant will work alongside the Occupational Health Manager and other health professionals to ensure quality of service provision.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the management, leadership, and delivery of an effective high quality Occupational Health (OH) service for Aneurin Bevan

University Health Board(UHB) and as required to external organisations.

  • Provide specialist OH advice and clinical services to managers and employees of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board
  • Provide departmental OH leadership undertaking all aspects of line management for the nursing team within their area.
  • Management of the clinical area including managing resource, maintaining a safe environment to implement high standards of OH

services.

  • Monitor standards of OH service, client experience and safety through robust evaluation and implementation of appropriate action.
  • The UHB supports and encourages agile working.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications And Knowledge

  • Registered Nurse Level 1(Part 1 NMC register)
  • Specialist post registration qualification in Occupational Health
  • Evidence of professional development and willingness to acquire further qualifications relevant to occupational health service
