What you'll be doing:
This is an exciting opportunity to be a highly visible member of the Finance team; you will liaise with senior budget holders in the business. A Key role, providing services directly to the Veolia Executive Committee. The role holder will be accountable for various aspects of the management & financial accounting reporting processes that are undertaken at the Finance Shared Service Centre.
The role holder will be responsible for a direct report and aspects of financial and management accounting reporting processes that are undertaken at the Finance Shared Service Centre. This includes:
- Budgets/Forecasts
- Monthly Management Accounts
- Assisting with quarterly deep dives
- Responsible for Business Partnering and producing quality budgets/forecasts
- Facilitation of Audits
- Group Reporting to Paris for Central Entities& intercompany reconciliations
- Documentation of current work process.
- Preparing Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Adhering to and completing a month end checklist
- Responsible for getting hands on with the local audits & statutory accounts process
- Look to find and implement process improvements
- Assisting with other ad hoc tasks in the team
What we're looking for:
- Qualification with a recognised UK accounting body e.g ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- Good business acumen; ability to understand the workings of a diverse range of business units
- Must be eager to help move the team forwards.
- Committed to delivering within set deadlines
- Willing and able to document, in a detailed way, current work processes
- Demonstrate strong communication skills with all levels of stakeholders
- Must be confident and a self-starter with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
- Sound technical accounting skills
