The Community Safety Services Team is located within Communities Department. They have the responsibility of providing a multi-agency approach to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behavior across Bexley and coordinating the Community Safety Strategy and delivery plan.

Community Safety brings together the relevant statutory Partners of the borough who have a responsibility for this work which includes London Borough of Bexley, Metropolitan Police, National Probation Service, London Fire Brigade and Health along with voluntary organisations and other key local authority based services who come together to develop plans and strategies to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behavior.

About The Role

We currently have a vacancy for a 12 month fixed term contract for the Senior Community Safety Co-ordinator post which is responsible for overseeing and implementing the operational delivery. The post will sit within Community Safety Services and will be managed by the Community Services Manager. The post will lead on the implementation of our operational response which will include Serious Violence, Anti Social Behaviour, Prevent and Integrated Offender Management.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the busy community safety team. You will need to have experience of working within a multi agency setting and will need full understanding of both children’s and adults safeguarding processes and procedures. The postholder would need to have experience managing staff and understanding of ASB and Serious Violence duties.

Some evening and weekend attendance may be required.

This Role Will Include

  • Overseeing casework ensuring an appropriate response providing both support and enforcement where necessary.
  • Overseeing the relevant action plans and delivery groups in response to BCSP priority areas.
  • Raising awareness of the Operational multi agency meetings with key partner agencies both statutory and non statutory within Bexley Community Safety Partnership.
  • Direct and in direct line management of operational staff
