The Role

The Solution Sales Specialist role is an entry-level role whose main purpose is to generate sales opportunities for the wider sales team. This will be done through various methods, but predominantly through telephone contact, calling organisations and contacts identified through various marketing activities.

This is a fantastic entry-level sales role that would suit a graduate, someone returning to work, or someone wishing to enter the IT industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calling contacts that have been identified as part of marketing campaigns that include social, web, online and in-person activities to generate sales opportunities
  • Finding the correct and relevant contact to speak to, introducing Simpson Associates and our services, and asking key information questions to generate sales opportunities
  • Working closely with the Sales and Marketing Team to develop call-out plans in line with the overall Marketing Plan


Some example call-out campaigns include:

  • Promoting Simpson’s portfolio of solutions & services
  • Following up on a specific campaign to a relevant sector
  • Generating attendees to Simpson-led events
  • Promoting our attendance at specific exhibitions & conferences
  • Follow up on leads generated at events and exhibitions.
  • Assist in developing call scripts to support the call-out plans
  • Targeted to call on average 60 contacts per day
  • Targeted to generate 10-15 meetings per month for the Business Development Team
  • 4 out of 5 days per week will be dedicated to calling activities
  • 1 day dedicated to admin, to include: Ensuring all conversations and information is recorded on CRM system
  • Ensuring knowledge is current on technologies/solutions for forthcoming calling campaigns through self-learning and training
  • Market research of sectors, competitors, etc
  • Ensuring follow-up calls/emails/tasks are scheduled and actioned
  • Provide regular reporting on calls and the progress of discussions and opportunities identified
  • Opportunity from time to time to attend events and exhibitions as a Simpson’s representative


Skills And Attributes Required

  • You are a self-starter and a team player working with colleagues across the business particularly the sales and marketing teams
  • Have an interest in technology and how this can help organisations deliver their objectives
  • Happy to spend a significant part of your day talking to people
  • Have an understanding of Simpson Associates' services and capabilities
  • Be able to qualify leads accurately and prioritise opportunities and time spent on them
  • You will have excellent, clear and concise, written, verbal and presentation skills
  • You will be proficient in using MS Office and ideally have CRM platform experience.
