R&D Technical Information & Data Analytics Lead

Lowestoft, Suffolk - Hybrid Working Model

We have an excellent opportunity for a R&D Technical Information Data Analytics Lead to join us our global R&D data team. In this role you will be given the chance to lead the delivering of the strategies for technical data systems and specifications in RDQ, covering the complex, multi layered specification elements that deliver the 7000 SKUS delivering €3.2bn NS. Leading our PLM/Interpec strategy for RDQ, this will be a new end to end project/ data management tool connected to SAP which will require process understanding, leading the technology solution with IT, Implementation management and change management.


Responsibilities/ Business impact

This role is instrumental in implementing robust data analytics capabilities, technical specification manager and ensuring R&D workflows are optimised across the product lifecycle. You will also be given the responsibilities to lead our R&D technology and AI strategy. Please see below few core responsibilities for this role.

  • Technical Data and Specifications: Delivery accurate and timely technical data and specifications across the technical portfolio, ensuring the RDQ technical data is complete as required. Optimise how Interspec (and future PML) can be used by RDQ and its interface with S4Hana. Collaborate with cross functional teams to establish processed to updating specifications, ensuring compliance and regulatory standards and supporting products adjustments or improvements.
  • Data and information as an enabler in RDQ: Develop and deliver a data strategy for RDQ on Data Analytics. Knowledge Management systems and on how to deploy Artificial Intelligence most effectively. Enable insights in process optimisation and performance tracking.
  • Delivery the future of technical data in RDQ: Oversee technical assessments of new tools and technologies that enhance R&D capabilities. Lead the strategy and delivery of PLM of RDQ, including change management from interspec to new system. Liaise closely with RDQLT members to specify what a new data system must delivery and with IT/External experts to specify this.
  • Contribution to quality: performance quality if the responsibility of everyone in RDQ and the RDQ leadership team sets the example and drives the mindset. From design for Manufacture and Quality by Design principles, through to right first-time delivery of projects and data, the leader ensures quality ways of working are consistent in actions across their team.


About you:

We are looking for someone who has an analytical mindset with great attention to detail, in addition, to having a proven track record of acting as a leader in their previous roles. We operate in a face-paced environment; therefore, you will need to be adaptable and self-motivated and independent to be able to be successful in this role. Please see few critical requirements be

  • low:Extensive experience within data analytics, data science and technical operations.
  • Technical science degree
  • 3+years of experience of Data analytics within FMCG
  • Experience in SAP/ERP systems.
  • Experienced with PML systems ideally interspec
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software, data strategy
  • Excellent communication skills, being able to translate technical data to business insights.
  • Machine learning/ AI experience is a bonus.
