Are you an driven and forward thinking Project Engineer with prior experience in civils, infrastructure or utilities projects and looking for a fresh opportunity?

We have an exciting new opportunity with our client, an integrated design and delivery solution provider within the utilities sector.

They are looking to grow their delivery team with a Project Engineer based from their Derby office with hybrid working available. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will assist the PM in co:ordinating an effective and economic plant design and procurement strategy; ensuring information is issued in timely fashion in order to enable construction, commissioning and putting to work in line with the Contract Programme.

Key Duties

  • Close monitoring of project costs to ensure they do not exceed tender/varied allowance
  • Ensure all applications for payment are made on or before the due date
  • Ensure contract reviews, monthly forecasts are completed and submitted on time
  • Maintain good client relationships at all levels
  • Assist with the Project Management strategy
  • Establish and maintain the contract filing systems
  • Assist in the production of the contract programme; monitor programme and produce progress reports
  • Provide data for the timely production of O and M manuals
  • Subcontractor and supplier liaison and monitoring of subcontractor performance
  • Work closely with site management on design and procurement issues
  • Assist in the preparation of the construction completion and take over documentation
  • Ensure designs are developed which are safe to construct, commission, operate and maintain
  • Complete the capitalisation process

Requirements

  • Must have an engineering background
  • Working knowledge of various conditions of contract especially NEC
  • Engineering qualification (HNC minimum) required
  • Knowledge of water and waste water treatment processes
  • CDM and Health and Safety knowledge
