Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The Mechanical Engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures Aberdeen based

Responsibilities

  • Prioritises and supports safety behaviors and safety culture. Complies with and contributes to safety rules and procedures.
  • Manages own time, assessing time inputted versus value added to maximise their effectiveness.
  • Manages internal and external projects from enquiry / conceptualisation through to final close out. Will run multiple projects in parallel.
  • Duties may include plus any other reasonable request aligned to the business as required by a manager:
  • Interacting with customers / appropriate internal departments to establish project scope and deliverables.
  • Ensuring appropriate information is communicated to internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure the smooth progression of work.
  • Proactively problem solving to contribute to the correct delivery of work.
  • Ensuring all records are evidenced, maintained and stored in accordance with the QMS.
  • Producing detailed work instructions.
  • Design, implementation and validation of new equipment, methods, analysis tools, etc.
  • Hands-on testing activities.
  • Indirect supervision of other staff.
  • Review and checking of procedures, work instructions, reports, etc.
  • Tracks project value and provides financial progress reports. Ensures correct order cover and evidences invoice amounts to minimise payment problems.
  • Monitors departments and team members are working in line with quality requirements and procedures, supporting audits and finding resolution where required.
