The Vacancy

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Product Marketing Manager to join our Innovation team within the Currency division of De La Rue.

As Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for translating our product information, customer needs and the context of the competitive environment into product propositions and our offering messaging.

In this role, you will also be responsible for working with Marketing to successfully launch new offerings into the market, working closely with Sales and customer facing teams to ensure consistency on the proposition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the Product messaging and proposition champion, ensuring we gain maximum value out of our positioning
  • Adapt messaging accordingly to suit customer types and segmentation
  • Articulate value in the context of the competitive positioning of our product range, highlighting and ‘packaging’ product differentiation, features and benefits in a value proposition
  • Establish propositions for new products and those in our portfolio that do not have them fully defined (e.g. LISP, Holographics and DLR Analytics)
  • Working with Marketing as appropriate, convert the proposition into:
    • Product messaging and positioning for marketing and the wider business
    • Sales tools and collateral
    • Internal training and supporting content
    • Supporting statistics
    • Product thought pieces and white papers
    • Standard content for bids
    • Information to support specific sales situations
    • Use cases
  • Develop a product hierarchy based on the value propositions, combined with value to De La Rue, for Sales to use as the basis of prioritising product focus in their sales strategies
  • Manage Square One Product content repository
Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: Full Time – 36.5 hrs per week

Base location: Basingstoke

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • The ability to understand and articulate technical product and software concepts and translate these into compelling, commercial, customer focused communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, both externally and internally, with proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders cross-functionally
  • Creative thinking to turn product information into an engaging value proposition
  • An understanding of the customer journey, marketing and technical products, ideally including both technology manufacturing and software
  • Good project management, able to deliver to the end result
