Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced individual to join the Referral & Booking Team managing the Health Board's Digital Patient Communications Platform. This challenging role requires expert knowledge of WPAS, extensive understanding of booking practices including Referral to Treatment rules, and experience in staff and project management.

The post holder must have excellent communication and organisational skills, change management abilities, and a proven track record of working with staff at all levels. They must be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and be open to change based on service requirements.

This newly established role is crucial in managing, planning, and implementing the Digital Communications System, including upgrades and rollouts within ABUHB.

While the role advises on staff management, there will be no direct staff management responsibilities during the next phase of the product, though this may change in the future.

Working to the Head of Referral & Booking, you will be well supported and encouraged to develop in his role.

Main duties of the job

The Product Manager will be responsible for leading the management, planning and implementation of the Digital Patient Communications Product across ABUHB. This role involves managing the product through its full life cycle, maintaining a high-level road-map, ensuring high quality and effective Digital Communication services. Additionally, the Product Manager will be the main point of contact for the Digital Communications product, engaging with key stakeholders to confirm requirements.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications And Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Degree or equivalent qualification/ experience
  • Significant management knowledge and experience gained managing a product, team and or service
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Specialist knowledge across the range of booking practices and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of Patient Administration systems and processes
  • Knowledge of NHS
  • Expert knowledge of WPAS and other ABUHB administration systems
  • Extensive knowledge of Referral to Treatment Time rules
  • Good grasp of Health Board policies and procedures, including Human Resources

Desirable criteria

  • Prince2 certification, or equivalent qualification
  • Management or Service Improvement Qualification
  • Knowledge of the Health Boards Digital Communications platform

Experience

  • Successful implementation of digital focused business change and improvements
  • Track record of implementing new systems
