The role
As a Mobile Repair Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will join our team delivering our vehicle and equipment contract with London Fire Brigade, in which deliver and ensure high levels of operations asset availability covering 460 vehicles across 39 categories and operational equipment, ranging from heavy and light vehicles to hydraulic rescue equipment.
Day-to-day, you’ll inspect, diagnose and repair any of the LFB’s assets at their operating or Training locations throughout greater London. This ensures that a process of continuous improvement is maintained in respect of improving the quality, reliability and thus availability of the current fleet, reducing the incidence of in-service defects, and, wherever practicable, eliminating the incidence of repeated defects.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week and requires regular travel across a range of internal and customer sites on a weekly basis.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.

- Diagnose faults and test vehicles utilising technical equipment and procedures and techniques, including road testing where deemed necessary.
- Ensure that the company vehicle is roadworthy at all times and any necessary repairs and scheduled maintenance events are planned in good time.
- Ensure the correct completion of all job-related documentation; effective post-rectification write-ups, Mobile Tranman processes and parts ordering.
- Identify all cases of recharge costs advising the MRT Controller and providing the appropriate supporting documentation and media

Essential Experience Of The Mobile Repair Technician
- Proven experience as a qualified motor vehicle technician
- Hold a Full UK Driving License (Category B essential & Category C desirable)
- Good diagnostic skills
- Quality awareness
- Understanding of basic health & safety requirements
- Ability to read / comprehend technical instructions
- City & Guilds 1 & 2 in Motor Vehicle Studies or equivalent NVQ levels 2 & 3
