Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift

Working shifts: 10hrs shifts - 6am to 4pm - Tuesday to Friday

Working environment: Clean Room Environment (dispensing media and finishing department)

Position Objective:

Ensure daily production of cell culture media and reagents meeting performance expectations.

Essential Functions:

• Manufacture Cell Culture Media for use in the biotech industry by following established protocols and instructions. Operate semi-automated and automated equipment and ensure flawless execution of tasks.
• Perform in-process testing to ensure batches meet stringent specifications. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot processes, procedures, and product issues.
• Balance multiple tasks and prioritize critical activities. Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills and strictly adhere to manufacturing standards.
• Follow established procedures as defined by training and SOPs. Seek advice from available resources during times of uncertainty.
• Show remarkable time management skills to boost efficiency. Assist in cost improvement initiatives by minimizing failures and optimizing capacity.
• Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and a strong work ethic at all times.
• Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and outstanding communication skills.
• Take initiative to suggest and successfully implement new procedures.
• Support department objectives and metrics.
• Be accountable for actions and their outcomes.
• Operate IT equipment and packaging machinery proficiently.
• Contribute to achieving department goals.

Education:

Must possess a Grade 3 or better in Standard Grade Math and English, and in at least one science-based subject.

Relevant manufacturing experience may be considered as an alternative.

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years in a similar high-throughput manufacturing environment is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for the industry, a drive for continuous improvement, and a dedication to fully engage in team initiatives.

Regular interaction with all Cell Culture employees and extensive liaison with other departments, ensuring quality and service excellence to uphold our dedication to customer happiness. Interaction with various levels within the organization, external customers, and regulatory bodies is required.

Working Conditions:

Works in a manufacturing environment, lifting up to 40 lbs, standing for long periods, and safely handling chemicals and hazardous materials. May occasionally work in cold environments like freezers, with the ability to work overtime and flexible shifts.
