Description

The Licensing team at Flint Bishop act on behalf of a number of household name clients in the Leisure and Hospitality sector and are looking for a Licensing Paralegal to join the team.

Previous licensing experience is not necessary and training will be given to the appropriate candidate. The role may suit someone who aspires to qualify as a Solicitor in the field of Licensing (subject to a separate process which leads to appointment as a Trainee Solicitor) or as a Chartered Legal Executive. The role may also suit somebody from a Regulatory background for example in the Police or a Local Authority.

The Licensing Paralegal will have the ability to confidentially manage a caseload of high calibre work and clients alongside the licensing team. The Licensing Paralegal reports directly to the Chairman and Senior Partner who is also Head of Licensing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Confidentially manage a caseload of a high calibre work and clients in conjunction with the licensing team
  • Prepare Licensing applications
  • Liaise with Licensing Authorities and other Responsible Authorities
  • Deal with resulting queries
  • Work with the firms clients in relation to their matters
  • Handle confidential information
  • Conduct legal research
  • Assist other team members when required.
  • Assisting with marketing and business development efforts.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Prepared to support the undertaking of Scottish Licensing (training given) with the licensing team
  • Has excellent IT skills and existing experience of working with a case management system
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of superb client care skills
  • Has a real desire to learn and progress
  • Is enthusiastic about the Leisure and Hospitality sector.
