Our Commercial Property Team
Our Commercial Property team combines efficient legal support colleagues with trusted and experienced lawyers who together deliver outstanding client care across the full range of commercial property services.
The team is led by Cheryl Baxter who is a Partner with almost 20 years’ experience in the property industry. Cheryl is based in our Torquay office and undertakes a broad variety of commercial work including sales, purchases, business transfers, finance, leases, licences for a range of businesses, investors, developers, SIPPs, charities and community interest groups. She also has a particular specialism in the hospitality, leisure and tourism sector.
Cheryl is joined in practice by her fellow partners, Joe Pengelly, Patrick Gaskins, Christian Robertson and Matt Bryant, all of whom are very experienced property lawyers, each with their own specialisms within the commercial property arena.
In our friendly and experienced Commercial Property team, you will feel supported in what you do whilst enjoying the autonomy to use your initiative and self-manage your working day, once you have become familiar with our processes and procedures and the firm’s standards and expectations.
The Role
As a Legal Support Assistant, you will assist Cheryl Baxter by providing effective administrative and secretarial support using a bespoke case management system and a wide range of business software applications.
You will be expected to have contact with clients, both in person and by telephone and email, as well as with other law firms and related professional organisations and agencies.
And finally, you will work collaboratively with your colleagues to ensure that the work of the commercial property team, primarily in the Torquay office but also across the wider firm when required, is carried out in accordance with the firm’s own standards and you will endeavour to deliver a high quality, efficient and effective professional legal service by ensuring that documentation is prepared and produced to a consistently high standard within required deadlines.
