Role Overview

The Kitchen Manager oversees daily kitchen operations, ensuring top-quality food, safety, and customer satisfaction. From managing the team to menu innovation and cost control, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience.

This fast-paced, hands-on role is ideal for someone passionate about food, leadership, and innovation in hospitality. You’ll thrive in a high-energy kitchen, especially during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Create schedules that ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Food Preparation & Quality Control

  • Oversee food preparation to ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation.
  • Maintain hygiene and food safety standards.

Inventory & Cost Management

  • Manage stock levels, place orders, and control inventory.
  • Minimize waste and maintain food cost control within budget guidelines.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Promote a safe and clean working environment.

Menu Development & Innovation

  • Design, update, and execute seasonal menus aligned with the venue’s concept.
  • Experiment with new recipes and ensure diverse, high-quality offerings.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with front-of-house staff for seamless service.
  • Address guest feedback and adjust kitchen operations as needed.

Supplier & Vendor Relations

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to source quality ingredients.
  • Negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Skills & Attributes

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in kitchen leadership or management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety and compliance regulations.
  • Time management and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Budgeting and cost control expertise.
  • Creativity and innovation in menu development.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Legal Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the country where the role is based.
  • An up-to-date bank account in your name.
  • Compliance with local health and food safety regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 20-30 kg / 45 lb
  • Comfortable working in a high-temperature, fast-paced kitchen environment.
