We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Print Designer to join the Lucy & Yak Product Team!

The Junior Print Designer plays a key role in supporting the creation of innovative and on-brand print designs by contributing to trend research, design development, and artist coordination. They will collaborate closely with internal teams and external artists to ensure brand identity is consistently represented across all print materials. With a keen eye for detail and creativity, they will assist in bringing unique collaborations to life while staying aligned with market trends and seasonal directions.

What you'll be doing...

  • Collaborate with the Design Manager to curate inspiration from research trips and forecast upcoming season trends in both colour and print design.
  • Build and present trend themes to the wider production team, supporting visual aids such as mood boards, colour palettes and design briefs.
  • Present final ranges to the business alongside the Product team.
  • Lead research and present potential artist collaborations and campaign concepts to Senior Leads.
  • Initiate and collaborate with external artists and creative to develop designs, emphasising diversity and ensuring a selection that reflects innovation and marketability.
  • Collaborate with the Design Manager to generate design sheets for each seasonal print, communicating design specs, scale, colour and product details to factories and Production team.
  • Approve lab dips, print strike offs and graphics with support of Design Manager and Production.
  • Assist in range building, alongside the Design Manager, ensuring the design and brand’s visual identity is consistently met in choices for upcoming seasons, both visually and conceptually.
  • Own Accessories design choices and graphics, collaborating with freelance designers. Ensure these align with the overall design range and meet required deadlines

In more detail....

  • Design up to ⅓ of the print range, across multiple product groups, to include apparel, accessories and homeware. Total of 90+ prints per season, shared with the Design Manager.
  • Create coherent repeat designs, making print design and colour palette amendments where relevant.
  • Produce and update CAD in CP, range building, presentations and sign off meetings
  • Oversee Design Assistant with approval preparation and communication to factories.

What you need...

  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Proficient in creating visual aids, including mood boards and design briefs using Google presentations
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Work well as a team member
  • Fabric and print knowledge
  • Strong conceptual and visual thinking skills
  • Keen eye for design trends and strong artistic skills.

  • Based in our Brighton Office
  • Salary £29,000 per annum
  • Permanent role
  • 30 hours/4 day per week with full time salary
