We are excited to offer an exciting new opportunity for an IT Systems Manager to manage and lead Aurora's IT Operational and ITSM tools.

This role is central to Aurora's IT support strategy, ensuring seamless global operations and delivering measurable outcomes, including improved service delivery, reduced incident recurrence, high customer satisfaction and robust service continuity.

As the IT Systems Manager, you will lead efforts in system optimisation, change management processes, and disaster recovery planning. Your expertise will also be pivotal in IT asset management, vendor negotiations, and ensuring operational excellence through detailed and actionable reporting.

A key advocate for Continual Service Improvement, you will refine and optimise internal tools and systems to elevate operational efficiency and service quality. Collaborating with cross[1]functional teams and leveraging best practices, you will play a vital role in maintaining a secure, innovative, and high-performing IT environment.

Key Responsibilities



  • Systems Management and Optimisation:

    • Oversee and enhance the functionality of IT operational tools (e.g., Atlassian Suite, Backupify, Rewind, Snipe-IT, Atera) to meet organisational needs.

    • Manage and integrate event monitoring tools with JSM for effective system oversight and incident resolution.






  • Change Management:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain IT Change Management processes in alignment with best practices.

    • Lead the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process to ensure changes are properly reviewed and approved.






  • Backup Management and Disaster Recovery:

    • Establish and maintain a reliable backup management framework, including regular testing and validation of recovery procedures.

  • IT Asset Management:

    • Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and lifecycle management of IT assets using appropriate systems.

    • Continuously evaluate and deploy tools to optimise IT Asset Management processes.






  • Vendor and Contract Management:

    • Negotiate software renewals, focusing on cost-effectiveness and alignment with organisational objectives.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring contracts and renewals deliver maximum value.






  • Operational Reporting:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive operational reports and dashboards to monitor IT system performance and highlight areas for improvement.






What we are looking for

Required attributes:


  • Technical proficiency: Expert in Atlassian Suite administration, configuration and development across Jira, JSM and Confluence. Prior experience of delivering but not limited to:

    • Workflow administration

    • Customer Portals

    • Service Request forms

    • Regional time-based SLAs

    • API integration

    • CSAT

    • Deployment and maintenance of 3rd Party addons






  • Process-Oriented Mindset: Experience designing and enforcing standard operating procedures to maintain a consistent service levels, including Change Management


  • Business Continuity: Ability to develop and maintain robust disaster recovery plans and ensure systems are in place for reliable data backup and recovery, covering tools such as M365 and the Atlassian Suite

  • Asset Management: Provide and maintain efficient tools and processes from managing IT assets across their lifecycle that integrate with ITSM


  • Proactive Mindset: Self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and take the initiative to improve processes and outcomes


  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with internal teams, third-party vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives

  • Adaptability: Resilient and agile in managing change, thriving in a global support environment with diverse requirements and constraints

  • Attention to Detail: High standards for accuracy and quality, particularly in managing IT assets, processes, and reporting


  • Project Management Experience: Familiarity with project management principles to assist with cross-functional initiatives and process improvement projects


  • Knowledge Management: Experience in maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base and ensuring information is accessible and clear for service desk personnel


  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Experience in driving continuous improvement and embracing best practices in IT operations and service delivery


  • Automation and Scripting: Familiarity with automation tools or scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency


  • Security Awareness: Awareness of IT security principles and best practices, with experience ensuring compliance with security standards and protocols


  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to analyse IT system performance data to identify trends, make recommendations, and implement improvements


  • Global Experience: Prior experience working in a global IT environment, with an understanding of region-specific requirements and constraints
