Do you have a passion for helping and caring for others and an awareness of the needs of people within adult social care? If yes, then this is the job for you.
We have a rewarding opportunity where you will help provide a person-centred care support and responsive service 24 hours a day to people with support needs to enable them to live as independently as possible within the community.
Your duties will include visiting people within their own homes to deliver in-house extra care service, working across three sheltered housing schemes in Luton, providing personal care and where applicable create a homely atmosphere to encourage independent living.
It is essential that you respect people’s right to privacy and ensure that their dignity is maintained at all times.
You’ll be caring for female clients, this post is only available to female applicants as permitted under the Equality Act 2010.

About You
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
Our ideal candidate must have the ability to develop positive relationships with customers, family/carers, other colleagues and health and social care professionals.
We do ask that you are educated to QCF level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent standard, or ability to obtain within 12 months following appointment.
You should be able to work flexibly including changing rotas, regular weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional), and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for which they are applying. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.
