An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CNC Grinder to join our team in Mainline Shafts (DSFT), within the Rotatives Supply Chain Unit.

You will operate in a busy, world-class engineering and manufacturing environment and be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. Your role as a CNC Grinder will involve working on some of the latest machining platforms in Rolls Royce producing various shaft components across all the major engine projects, your role will also involve working with cross functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment.

What You Will Be Doing

You will work to Rolls-Royce Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high quality Inspection across a variety of different components and product families, you will also:

  • Operate a variety of Inspection equipment, micrometres, bore gauges and comparator gauging.
  • The interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.
  • The assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
  • Work within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure your work is being completed to plan.

Who We’re Looking For

For this role you will need to demonstrate understanding of the appliable health and safety standards and we are looking for someone who is/has:

  • NVQ Level 3 or time served engineering apprenticeship essential *, with previous experience with aerospace components would be preferable.
  • Prior experience of internal, external and Curvic grinding would be preferred.
  • Prior experience of the visual and dimensional inspection to aerospace standard is preferable.
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
  • Looking for candidates who are pro-active and patient individuals that are capable of managing their time effectively.
  • Please attach a copy of your certificate as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with/next to your CV.
