Graphic & Visual Designer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Graphic & Visual Designer to join our dynamic team working primarily with clients in the National Security and Defence domains, which is dynamic, fast paced and extremely rewarding. 

About the role

As part of a collaborative design team, you will contribute to designing and improving user experiences for our public sector client.  Your focus will be on developing highly engaging and effective content in a variety of formats to appeal to different audiences and channels. We want our content to be dynamic, modern, and engaging so that our client's messaging really stands out, attracting the reader’s attention from the offset and leaving a lasting impression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and produce communications collateral in both print and digital environments for a range of clients and for Clarion internal and external communications
• Collaborate internally as well as with clients to conceptualise and execute creative solutions that can be translated across various media platforms. 
• Be able to support multiple projects at any one time and be able to adapt when required to work to some tight deadlines.  
• Be responsible for understanding our clients’ requirements and agreeing outcomes, timescales and deliverables 
• Research up-to-date tools, creatively seek out new products and maintain up-to-date industry knowledge to make the most effective recommendations to customers
• Uphold the Clarion brand

About You    

We are looking for an individual who brings knowledge, skills and experience across different sectors and industries, in some or all of the following capabilities:

• has previous experience in graphic or creative design with an excellent knowledge and understanding of the Graphic Design principles of layout and composition, typography and colour theory and is confident at creating graphics and photo editing.
•  Is adept at using market leading design and content development software and tools (Adobe Creative Suite, as well as MS Office applications).
• can think creatively to solve problems and develop communication solutions for our clients that will effectively engage and elicit the desired response in their audience.
• has a meticulous attention to detail.
•  is comfortable working within restrictions such as brand guidelines and is confident at designing for accessibility.
• has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is comfortable with working as part of a team or leading a client deliverable while engaging with clients at all levels. You can develop flexible approaches to your design workaccording to client expectations, feedback and deadlines.

Ideally you will also have some experience of some of the following:

• Web design/basic front-end web development including HTML and CSS
• User Experience, User Interface design 
• Photography, Videography/Video content creation, Video editing
• Illustration, Animation

Salary:  £25,000 - £35,000 depending on experience

Location:  These are hybrid roles working from home and our office in Cheltenham. 

Employment Type:  Permanent

Clearance 

SC clearance is preferable and DV clearance would be ideal.
