Vacancy: Global Account Manager

We are looking for a Global Account Manager to expand on our already long-term, positive relationships with some of our major clients in Industrial arena. In this role you will lead all aspects of sales of this assigned client/client. You are encouraged to drive new business and actively seek new sales opportunities as well as maintaining the contracts we already have in place.

Location: It would be a preference to be based at our Manchester office based in West Didsbury, with a flexible working policy of 2/3 days per week in the office, and the rest remotely. There will be a requirement to infrequently travel to customer sites, this may also include sometimes oversea trips to countries in Europe, America and Asia-pacific e.g. US, Germany, India.

The Siemens Vertical Sales team focuses on developing opportunities for global customers of different verticals. You will be part of the international Industries vertical of Siemens with direct colleagues in HQ and many more around the world in different countries. Although the Head Quarter is in Erlangen Germany, you will work internationally and will have close contact with offices of the clients worldwide.

Our portfolio consists of power distribution systems such as medium and low voltage switchgear, transformers, busbar systems, protective relays, automation and IoT / digitalized monitoring systems and modular structures such as E-Houses and Skids. As Global account manager you will also represent other portfolio elements from Siemens and its affiliates.

What are the responsibilities associated with the job?

  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationship, focusing on their Headquarters but also their entities around the globe as "ONE face to the customer”.
  • Further development of the global account, drive Account Development Plans (ADP) with market analysis and definition of strategic objectives, transparency through acquisition of projects in our CRM tool.
  • Lead development, Contract negotiations and closure of agreements with a balanced profit in mind.
  • Develop close relationships within Siemens (international) operating capture and execution teams.
  • Responsible, in collaboration with the engineers, for the right technical advice and support to the customer in terms of products and their integration into power supply systems as well as the approval processes if required.

Your background

  • Shown experience in the international sales of power transmission and distribution systems and/or projects.
  • A technical bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience and basic knowledge of electrical power distribution. This in combination with experience in handling international customers and understand their investment and buying behavior would make you the perfect candidate.
  • A flexible attitude and willingness to travel.
