JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you looking for a role that will put you at the heart of the Scottish Government and provides a unique chance to develop your skills while growing your Civil Service career in a high profile, fast-paced environment?
You will join the Executive Team Strategic Governance Office (ETSGO). You will play a key role in providing dynamic support to the Executive Team – which includes the Permanent Secretary and all Directors-General. Executive Team is the SG’s senior leadership team, with responsibility for leading the organisation to deliver its outcomes for Ministers and the people of Scotland.
This exciting role sits within a very supportive team and will suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic and highly rewarding environment. You will have the opportunity to strengthen your understanding of how the Scottish Government operates, build relationships and develop you organisational skills while studying towards a SVQ qualification.
This is a Modern Apprenticeship opportunity, throughout the first 12 months the success candidate will be expected to gain a relevant SVQ qualification. Support will be provided by an internal assessor who will work with you on a monthly basis with time given to work on your qualification.

Location
The post is based at St Andrews House, Edinburgh. The division adopts the Scottish Government hybrid working policy and principles, where arrangements are agreed locally. Attendance will be required in office several times a week to carry out certain duties, otherwise the post will combine with working from home.

Responsibilities
- Managing calendar invites – ensuring the correct people have the information they require in a timely manner.
- Managing the ETSGO mailbox – dealing with emails quickly and accurately, in line with priorities and to tight deadlines.
- Building strong relationships within the team and wider division, with Director General Offices and across the organisation.
- Providing logistical support for meetings whether hybrid, remote or in-person.
- Supporting the commissioning of papers for meetings, ensuring information is retained in line with relevant information management practices.
- Maintaining an accurate record of Executive Team meeting actions, and ensuring progress is monitored and documented.
