We’re looking to recruit a Design Engineer to support our Falkirk crane production facility.
This role would suit a recent graduate, or a Junior Design Engineer looking for their first step in a professional industrial setting.
We're the exclusive UK distributor for Palfinger Lorry Cranes – the world market leader in our sector. We’re also the UK’s largest national lorry crane provider that offers in-house assembly, bespoke body-building and servicing.
Our production facilities work with all major truck manufacturers, offering commercial body fitting and assembly from the bare chassis up. Our design team are central to this premium operation. As a Designer you’ll be calculating and designing our crane subframes, along with the associated crane fitments exactly to customer specifications.
Hours
This is a site based role working:
Monday - Thursday 08:30-17:00
Friday 08:30-16:00

Key Duties Will Include
- Providing calculations for new business to confirm suitability of crane and chassis selected.
- Designing and producing engineering drawings needed to manufacture components and structures.
- Obtaining quotes and ordering pumps for fitting to vehicles across all depots.
- Providing technical support to external customers, as well as colleagues across the sales and production departments.
- Will have experience of working in an engineering design environment.
- Be able to use AutoCAD/Solidworks.
- Have knowledge of stress calculation.
- Possess a degree, HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
- Interested in training to become a specialist in our niche sector.
- Will already reside in the local area, (within a reasonable commute from Falkirk).
