The Opportunity
Nuclear Operations Information Services are looking for a Data Engineer to help create and deliver our Data & Analytics vision, delivering and implementing Azure Data Analytics solutions at an Enterprise level.
The main office for this role is: Gloucester Business Park, however we are accepting flexible positions for this role, you will be required to attend the Gloucester Business Park every other week.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance which will, ordinarily, require you to have a UK nationality or Citizenship for a minimum of 5 years.
Pay, Benefits And Culture
The salary range associated with this role is between £44,112 - £78,541 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Data Engineer at EDF, you will design and implement solutions using Microsoft Azure services and tools. Your responsibilities include building enterprise data models and Data Warehouse solutions, specifying ETL pipelines, and integrating and migrating data. You will expose data to end users through Power BI, Azure API Apps, or other visualisation tools, and analyse business practices to identify opportunities for leveraging Azure data and analytics services.
Working within an agile team, you will collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and testers. You will identify data sources, design and implement data engineering solutions, and structure data for analytics, machine learning, and integration. Additionally, you will harvest, integrate, cleanse, migrate, and convert data, ensuring ethical handling and compliance with legislation. Security, compliance, scalability, efficiency, reliability, and flexibility will be integral to all your data engineering solutions.
Who You Are
We're looking for a Data Engineer with a strong background in Azure, capable of designing, implementing, and guiding others in its use and benefits. Your expertise should include SQL, Synapse, Data Factory pipelines, data modelling, and designing data lakes and relational databases. You should also be proficient in architecting and delivering solutions using the Azure Data Analytics platform, with exposure to Spark and Azure Cosmos DB.
Ideally, you understand various integration patterns like web services and event-driven architectures and are familiar with API implementation schemes such as SOAP and REST. Knowledge of reporting and data visualization tools like Power BI or SAP Business Objects, as well as hands-on experience with Master Data Management and Data Quality Tools, is a plus.
Experience with technologies such as Azure DevOps, NextAxiom, Business Objects, Python, R, or C# would be beneficial. If you have a passion for leveraging cutting-edge technology to drive data solutions, we want to hear from you!
