Community Short Breaks Worker
Salary: £23,151.50 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) - £12.00 per hour
Location: Swansea
Contract/Hours: Permanent, Part-time, Term-time – 9 to 18 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 16:00 to 19:30 and Saturdays between 09:30 – 16:00.

A Bit About The Role
Swansea Short Breaks allows children to enjoy a safe, meaningful experience and an opportunity has arisen for a Community Short BreaksWorker to join ourdedicated, friendly, warm and professional team.
Our Community Short Breaks Workers provide essential support to children and young people with disabilities or additional needs, by offering temporary respite care.
Your role will involve organising and supervising activities to promote socialization, independence and personal development. The service allows the families of the children and young people a much-needed break whilst providing the individuals we care for an engaging, safe, supportive and enriching environment.
You’ll collaborate with families and other professionals to tailor activities and support to the specific needs of each child or young person.
We are ready to support and develop you to build on the experience you already have. We would love to hear from you if you want to help change lives by working at the forefront of child-centered care.

Community Short Breaks Worker

How You'll Help To Create Brighter Futures
- Providing temporary respite care for children and young people
- Planning and organising engaging activities that promote independence and personal development.
- Supporting with their needs whilst providing emotional support, personal care and maintaining a clean, safe and nurturing environment.
- Monitoring and assessing the progress and behaviour of children and young people, providing feedback to families and relevant professionals
- Participating in training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in care and support
- Experience working within a care environment preferably working with children and young people with learning disabilities, their families, and carers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with children, young people, families and other professionals
- Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
- Commitment to ongoing training and professional development in care practices and disability support
- Driving License with Access to Car and business insurance for transporting children and young people to activities and appointments
