How will you make an impact in this role?
- Perform as a high-level, technical subject matter expert for campus wireless and remote access engineering services.
- Assist with and support Wireless and Network Switch Platforms
- Participate in current state system analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation
- Assist Lead Network Engineer in architecture and infrastructure design and selection process
- Provide estimates, engineering, implementation, and review of Campus wireless and network design
- Create technical design/implementation documentation
- Create platform product roadmap
- Lead test planning, and execution of configuration and implementation deployments
- Work with various project teams providing consultation to prepare various user services and components for production.
- Work with GNOC Incident Management team to identify monitoring gaps and analytics requirements.
- Coach and mentor others
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience in Enterprise Networking technologies
- Proven experience engineering and supporting large scale multi-vendor enterprise networks including Cisco / Arista /Aruba
- Experience with RF and designing WiFi networks for campus locations
- CWNA certification knowledge base
- Knowledge of IEEE wireless standards (802.11 g,n,ac,ax), 2.4, 5, and 6Ghz)
- Knowledge of RF, WLAN design, site surveying a plus
- Experience with AAA Authentication Authorization Accounting
- Experience RADIUS and/or TACACS
- Experience ClearPass/ISE experience
- Experience Integrating with ADS and/or MFA
- Experience with server Certificate management
- Experience ticket system (ServiceNow)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience with various network, wireless and remote access vendors to include but not limited to Aruba, Cisco.
- Knowledge of routing, switching, and network technologies such as Spanning Tree, 802.1Q, Port-Channels, 802.1x, QoS, VLANs, SVIs, and Multicast
- Knowledge of engineering tools – Wireshark, PCAP, SSH, Putty
- Good understanding of security infrastructure, including firewall concepts
- Requires professional written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to function effectively both individually and within a team
